H. Ach, Co-Owner / President
began his business career in commercial roofing after graduating
from Georgetown College with a Biology and Chemistry degree.
With no business experience he went on to become President and
Founder of ABR Construction. He has spearheaded the development
and expansion of ABR, bringing the company up to the standards
that it adheres to today. Over the last 30 years, he not only
gained experience in all aspects of the roofing and sheet metal
industry but expanded the company’s scope of work in 1998
to include excavation and site development. Today, Christian
is still very active in the day to day operations with his primary
focus being site development projects such as High Meadows Subdivision
in Richmond, High Point Industrial Park in Shelbyville, and
Cardinal Hill Expansion in Lexington.
C. Ach, Co-Owner / Vice President
co-owner and vice-president of ABR Construction, Michael has
played a key role in the growth and development of the company
since its founding in 1980. Although he primarily oversees the
roofing and sheet metal division, Michael maintains a close
working relationship with all operations of the company. He
spends much of his time as an estimator and project manager.
His expertise in these fields has led ABR Construction, Inc.
to successfully complete some of the more difficult jobs in
the industry. Some of Michael’s projects include Southland
Christian Church, Lexington, KY, Lexington-Fayette Co. Detention
Center, Powell Co. HS, and The Lexington Herald-Leader Building.
Manager / Treasurer
has served as Secretary Treasurer of ABR Construction since
its inception in 1980. In 1995, Debbie made a career change
and became a part of the ABR office staff. In addition to overseeing
daily operations in the office, Debbie’s responsibilities
have evolved over the years to primarily focus on employee relations
S. Mattingly, Technical Manager
has been with ABR Construction since 1982. His extensive construction
knowledge and experience has proven valuable to his position
as Technical Manager. Alex is involved in estimating and managing
some of the company’s more difficult projects. In 2008,
he became certified in 2 different metal building systems: CECO
and Armor Building Systems. He successfully managed the construction
of Save-a-Lot stores in Richmond and Winchester. Some of his
past commercial roofing projects include: Rupp Arena, Spiegel/Eddie
Bauer Distribution Center in Groveport, Ohio, VA Hospital in
Lexington and Biggs-Middletown Station Mall.
R. McKibben, Project Manager
been actively involved with ABR Construction since 1990. While
attending college, Dave first gained hands-on experience in
the commercial roofing industry by working for ABR during the
summer months. He graduated from Morehead State University in
1992 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration
and became a full-time member of the ABR team. He wears many
hats for our company including estimating, project managing,
and scheduling for the roofing division and plays a vital role
in the daily operations of our company. Dave actively works
with architects and owners to plan, budget, and design roofing
projects that best suits their needs. Dave has extensive knowledge
in all commercial roofing systems including architectural sheet
metal. Some of Dave’s past projects include The Lexington
Legends Applebee’s Ballpark, Louisville Courier Journal,
Fleming Co. Hospital, Mercer Co. High School, and Ephraim McDowell
Davis, Service Coordinator/Safety Director
23 years of experience in commercial roofing and sheet metal,
all of which have been served at ABR Construction. He is a certified
applicator of numerous roofing and sheet metal systems. As Service
Coordinator, Floyd oversees daily field operations and projects,
makes routine on-site inspections for safety and quality assurance,
and works closely with owners and facility managers to resolve
their roof issues. Floyd also directs our Safety Program. Maintaining
a safe working environment for all employees is a daily priority
for ABR. Floyd works alongside project managers and field supervisors
playing a vital role in keeping the company focused. He is certified
in all required safety areas including OSHA-10 Hours, CPR and
First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens, Asbestos Abatement, Scaffolding
Erection, Hazardous Communications, General Safety, and Train
the Trainer Forklift Safety. He also has received training in
trench safety through AGC.
A. Shackelford, Payable Administrator
began her ABR career in 1995, working summers until she graduated
from college in 2004. She earned a BS degree in Business Management
from Georgetown College. Her primary responsibilities include
issuing and tracking purchase orders, maintaining sub-contractor
documents, and working closely with vendors to expedite invoice
McKibben, Accounting Manager
has served as Accounting Manager for ABR Construction since
1999. She first earned an accounting degree from the University
of Kentucky in 1997. During that time, Crystal gained valuable
hands-on experience through an accounting manager position at
2 local financial institutions before joining our team.

our projects. Her responsibilities include all aspects of the
project from assisting with the bidding process to closing out
the job file. Susan works closely with our Project Managers
to expedite job set-up, invoicing, and close-out procedures.
She also assists in the coordination of roof repair calls. Susan
started working at ABR in our payroll department in 2000 and
transitioned to her current position in 2004.
took over Susan’s role as Payroll Manager in 2004. She
came to ABR with a degree from Western KY University in advertising.
Juanita bridges the gap between office and field employees by
first guiding new hires through the application, hiring, and
orientation process. She maintains contact with employees for
all payroll related matters.
K. Darnell, PLS, Project Manager
K. Darnell has been with ABR Construction, Inc. since 1999.
He is a professional land surveyor with over 20 years of experience.
He is proficient in storm and sanitary sewer design, water
line, site grading, roadway design and layout. Darrin
has comparable experience in soil and concrete mechanics and
geotechnical engineering. He also has over 20 years drafting
experience using various versions of AutoCAD. His specialty
is 3D digital terrain modeling and earthwork volume calculations
Bullock has been with ABR since July 2001. He is a key member
of the excavation division and helps the general construction
division as needed. As an excavation project manager, Patrick
takes jobs from bidding to completion. Patrick graduated from
the University of KY with a degree in Landscape Architecture.
He has over 15 years experience in civil engineering and has
focused on both small and large scale site design and master
planning. His work at ABR also allows him to utilize his expertise
in art and computer modeling. Patrick designed and created this
